Posture Analysis

Posture is the way our body holds itself when sitting, standing, lying down or moving. When our posture is aligned correctly, the work done by the muscles in maintaining a particular position is reduced and therefore minimum stress placed on each joint.

 

Some common posture problems are:

  • Forward head

  • Rounded shoulders

  • Slouched posture

  • Lordosis

  • Kyphosis

  • Scoliosis

If you have a back pain improving your posture is unlikely to address the root of the cause, but it may help alleviate muscle tension.

Some studies examined the relationship between posture and pain and demonstrated that correcting the posture can have a positive effect on pain.
